Testimonials

Yoga Therapy for Children and Adolescents

1:1 and group yoga therapy sessions for children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, low mood, emotional overwhelm, trauma, and/or neurodivergence.

When we fall short on words, yoga therapy provides practical tools to support us regulate emotions and feelings — tools that are key to get through the school day. My teaching background has taught me how to create connected spaces for children to be seen and heard, to have their needs met by a practitioner who is trying hard to understand them.

Sessions blend playful movement, breath awareness, and mindfulness to support co-regulation, resilience, and emotional safety.

My work is grounded in specialist training with The Minded Institute (Yoga Therapy for Child and Adolescent Mental Health) and Yoga on the Lane (Proper Yoga for Kids). Each session is creatively adapted to the individual needs and lived experience and blends what we know from neuroscientific, medical research and yoga philosophy.

About

I began my yoga teacher training in 2019 while working as a secondary school teacher. I fell in love with moving at a slower, gentler pace. Teaching yoga to staff and students became a much-needed contrast to the stress and demands of education. I could carve out space for safe, playful exploration and give permission for dysregulated, overwhelmed bodies to rest.

I trained as a Yoga Therapist with The Minded Institute in 2023, wrote my dissertation on endometriosis, and completed further qualifications in Yoga Therapy for Children’s and Adolescent Health, Perinatal Health, and Chair Yoga. I am a Supervisor on the Minded Institute’s Yoga Therapy programme and working towards my 820-hour certification to become an Internationally Accredited Yoga Therapist

Yoga offers us a philosophy and practical tools to notice our patterns and become more attuned to sensation — the tightness of dread in the abdomen, stiffness in shoulders, or tension held in the hips. Over time, we learn to breathe and move in ways that soften the belly, fill the lower lungs, and expand the space between the collarbones, helping us stand taller from strong foundations. So many offerings to support us in all moments of our day.

The yoga I teach and practise is always trauma-informed and grounded in ahimsa — kindness toward every part of ourselves, so we can extend outwards to those we care for, work with, and live beside.
